See Kai Run...

And jump. And dance. And sing songs. And play the piano...

And that was only in the first 15 minutes of our session!  

Seriously, this little kid is FUN, and ADORABLE and TALENTED and his mom is darling and sweet and sooo photogenic too!  I could not fail on this one even if I tried....

We had so much fun shooting together last Saturday and it was great to see Sarah again after all these years and meet little Kai.  (Did I mention that Sarah is a friend of mine from back in our elementary and high school days in Temple City?) We were in cheer together and on the dance team but Sarah was (and I am guessing still is) a seriously talented dancer.  She also happens to have a heart of gold that shines through in a big way everywhere she goes.

Sarah and Kai, you have such a sweet and everlasting bond and I could not be happier to have been in your beautiful light if only for a few moments... THANK YOU!!!

Swooning and Swarming...

Saturday was a BIG day full of brand new clients who had booked mini-sessions with Smooch through Shannon and her fantastic store The Little Red Barn.  

I will admit that I was feeling exhausted after a few busy shooting days and rough nights sleep the night prior and could not shake it off UNTIL I got sight of Dominic and baby Jaxon. 

OMG...they are sooo cute and Dominic could not have been more handsome, polite and sweet with a smile that could light up the moon.  He was simply charming....

And Jaxon?  Cutest little thing with the most GORGEOUS hair and eyes! Oh my this family is gonna have some girls swooning and swarming someday...

Feast your eyes on these two little ones and time yourself to see how long it takes to fall in love with them.

Three, Two, One...

Light, Love and Laughter...

These were the three elements that surrounded us last Friday as we shot this beautiful family in the historic, lovely & peaceful town of San Juan Capistrano, Ca.

Meet Michelle, Lloyd and their two little cuties Lauren & Jack.  

Michele and I were raised in the quaint town of Temple City, Ca which was a GREAT place to grow up (I can honestly say that I get how great it was now that I am a parent).  My dad coached the boys in little league and her dad coached us girls in softball (Michele was a MUCH better player than I was).

Michelle and I re-connected on Facebook several months ago after a figuring out that a friend of hers was also a client of mine.  This was a cool & serendipitous coincidence and we all marveled at what a small world it truly is!.  Luckily she liked my work too and decided to book a session with me for her family portraits.  We have so much in common all these years later and it was a joy to see her again.  Some things are simply meant to be!

I took the train down to SJC (which is becoming an new and welcome trend for me) and they made the drive to meet me at the train station.  We were all anxious to get started so we wandered off with the kids excited about finding roosters, wildflowers and eating ice cream (a well deserved treat on a hot day).

As you can see, we had a great afternoon together and were blown away by the variety of beautiful places to shoot.  Each corner we turned was prettier than the last and the light became more gorgeous as the day went on.  

Michele and Lloyd, thanks for a spectacular day and for bringing all of your beauty and joy along with you.  

Oh, and your KIDS. ARE. ADORABLE!
